Divya found her calling in physical therapy through an early education and love for dance. After finishing her bachelors in physiotherapy in India, she moved to the United States. She has completed an orthopaedic residency at NYU and is now pursuing a transitional Doctorate in Physical Therapy through MGH Institute, Boston. Divya also holds an Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist certification.
Divya has a fascination with movement and how the body expresses itself through movement, which stems from her being a classically trained dancer. She is FMS (Functional Movement Screen) and SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment) certified and uses these principles to evaluate and treat her patients.
She has worked in varied settings ranging from inpatient to outpatient in India, New York & Chicago and has recently moved to the Bay area. In her spare time, Divya enjoys dancing, traveling & painting. She has also volunteered as a PT at the NY Ironman Challenge 2012.
