Christen Key
Meet Christen
Christen Key received her Bachelors of Science degree in Health and Exercise Science from Syracuse University in 2006. While at Syracuse, she was a full-scholarship Division 1 athlete that competed in the 100m and 200m dash for the Track and Field team. Following her undergraduate studies, she went on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Miami.
At the beginning of her professional career, Christen worked at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center, in Los Angeles, where she treated patients who underwent neurological surgical intervention. She then joined Complete PT, where she trained in aquatic therapy and provided partial-weight bearing care for patients with orthopaedic and neurological conditions. Christen later returned to the east coast where she worked in Philadelphia treating varying orthopaedic pathologies, ranging from ACL reconstruction to rotator cuff repair.
In 2014 she embarked upon the amazing opportunity to volunteer with the US Olympic Team, in Colorado Springs, CO. During her time at the Olympic Training Center, she provided sideline care for the men’s gymnastics team and administered first aid care during the 2014 IBSA World Judo Championship for the visually impaired. She then relocated to New York where she took her skills to Broadway, treating performers before they hit the big stage.
As a Board-Certified Clinical Sports Specialist, she has worked on shows such as Matilda, Kinky Boots, Cirque Du Soleil, Paramour, On Your Feet, and The Color Purple. Christen has been able to uniquely combine her knowledge as a physical therapist with that of an athlete to devise treatment protocols that are distinctive and functional in nature. In her spare time, she enjoys going on bike rides with her family and practicing yoga.
