Nicholas Weigel
Meet Nicholas
Nick graduated from The Ohio State University in 2010 with a degree in English. His focus at that time was to continue rowing competitively, which brought him to the Boston area. There he completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions in 2018.
In Boston Nick worked at a clinic well known for treating professional runners and other endurance athletes. He enjoyed working with high schoolers and their parents the most. It was here he developed a passion for treating tendinopathy. Having had his own experience with a high hamstring tendinopathy he found it helpful to be able to empathize with others going through this uniquely frustrating condition.
While working in Boston, Nick also developed a passion for professional bike fitting, combining his expertise in biomechanics with his love of cycling to help riders improve comfort, efficiency, performance, and injury prevention. He earned his Level 1 International Bike Fit Institute certification and now provides professional bike fitting at Agile’s Los Altos clinic. Whether you’re training for a race, recovering from an injury, or looking to ride pain-free, Nick’s Medical-Performance Bike Fitting approach focuses on optimizing both the rider and the bike.
Nick has been a competitive endurance athlete for more than 17 years, competing in rowing, road running, ultramarathons, and UCI Category 2 cyclocross. His firsthand experience as a competitive cyclist and endurance athlete gives him a unique perspective when helping cyclists optimize their bike fit, recover from injuries, and improve performance. Although he no longer races competitively due to a heart condition, you’ll often find him Olympic weightlifting, mountain biking, gravel riding, photographing bike races, or hiking with his wife and two dogs.
Nick enjoys taking an active treatment approach with an emphasis on play and variability, he believes movement is the best medicine, and often complex problems have simple solutions.
