Dawn obtained her BS in Kinesiology at UCLA and her Master’s of Physical Therapy from the University of Delaware.
Prior to coming to Agile in 2018, she worked in a hospital based clinic in San Jose. She rotated through acute and outpatient neuro rehabilitation and orthopedics before spending the majority of her career working with cardiopulmonary patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings allowing her to progress surgical patients from pre-op through the ICU and into an outpatient setting. Included in this outpatient program was teaching pre-gastric bypass surgical candidates how to start an exercise program that they could continue on their own after surgery. She had an opportunity to do graded exercise stress testing in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
She transitioned back into orthopedics in 2013 and although she enjoys the variety of patients seen with orthopedic problems. She particularly enjoys teaching patients who may have other medical issues how to exercise with their orthopedic diagnosis.
She is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist from the American Physical Therapy Association and a Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine. She also completed a year long manual therapy course in Redwood City, CA.
