Ed Schiavone
Meet Ed
Ed Schiavone earned a BS in Physical Therapy from Youngstown State University, Ohio. He received his Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Certification in 2005. Ed completed the Advanced Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Fellowship at Kaiser Permanente Northern California in 2006 and has been a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist since 2009. He is clinic director at Agile Physical Therapy, contracting services to Palo Alto Medical Foundation in Palo Alto, CA.
Ed previously served as the Agile Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Director from 2010 through 2016. As residency coordinator and clinical faculty, Ed has taught and mentored residents, and led faculty and education curriculum development. Ed has been on faculty of the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship since 2011. As part of the fellowship faculty he teaches and mentors Fellows-in-training on various topics including: clinical reasoning, test clusters, principles of classification and differentiation, thrust and non-thrust techniques, and exercise progression. He also teaches continuing education classes on the topic of thrust techniques for the spine and extremities to physical therapists of all skill levels.
In 2016, Ed co-founded PhysioTree LLC, a healthcare information technology start-up specializing in clinical applications.
