Kate Kevorken
Meet Kate
Kate’s clinical approach reflects three perspectives: athlete, clinician, and patient. As a former NCAA Division I basketball player at the University of Nevada, Reno, she understands how movement shapes identity, confidence, and community.
After undergoing her own extensive hip surgery, Kate gained firsthand understanding of the physical and psychological challenges of recovery, bringing a new lens to her approach. The rehabilitation process showed Kate that even the best plan is not enough unless patients feel understood, supported, and confident in a journey built alongside them rather than placed on them. With an energetic, encouraging presence, Kate helps patients reconnect with their why and believe in what is possible. Her goal is not simply to help people feel better, but be better.
Kate earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California, where she received the Order of the Golden Cane Award for Excellence, and completed Stanford Health Care’s Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency. A BoardCertified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist, she has extensive experience and a genuine passion for treating nonoperative and postoperative shoulder, knee, and hip conditions, including ACL injuries and hip dysplasia, and guiding individuals through return to sport at any level. An APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor, Kate mentors future clinicians and integrates evidence-based, technology-informed care, including advanced blood flow restriction training. Her treatment style focuses on looking beyond the symptoms to identify the true driving factors, emphasizing kinetic chain involvement to direct movement and neuromuscular retraining, mobility and strength progression, and return to meaningful activity.
Outside the clinic, Kate loves traveling, baking sourdough bread, and fitting in every sport she can watch (especially her beloved Dodgers…sorry not sorry, Bay Area) and every exercise class she can take, all while trying to keep up with her wife and their dog, Remy, on hikes and “walks.”
