Evan Carvalheira

Evan earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the UCSF/SFSU Graduate Program in Physical Therapy in 2026, a Master of Science in Kinesiology from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2022, and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from San Diego State University in 2020. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), combining advanced rehabilitation with evidence-based performance training.

As a physical therapist at Agile Physical Therapy’s Menlo Park clinic, Evan is passionate about helping active individuals recover from injury, return to sport, and perform at their highest level. He has a special interest in treating baseball players, soccer players, surfers, runners, and endurance athletes, as well as anyone looking to stay active and pain-free. Whether an athlete is recovering from surgery, dealing with an overuse injury, or working to improve performance, Evan develops individualized treatment plans focused on long-term success.

Having played competitive soccer throughout his life and experienced injuries firsthand, Evan understands both the physical and mental challenges that come with returning to sport. His treatment philosophy centers on addressing the entire movement system—not just the painful body part. He emphasizes thorough communication, collaborative decision-making, movement analysis, and personalized treatment strategies to help each patient achieve meaningful, lasting results.

Evan has experience working with a wide variety of patients, from semi-professional athletes striving to maximize performance to older adults who simply want to lift their grandchildren without pain. He believes every patient’s goals are important and enjoys celebrating the small milestones that ultimately lead to life-changing outcomes.

Originally from Santa Cruz, Evan spends much of his free time surfing along the California coast. Outside the clinic, he also enjoys playing soccer, hiking, rock climbing, photography, and searching for the best burrito in the Bay Area.
