Sports Medicine

What is Sports Medicine?

Athletes are everywhere. You do not have to be a professional to take your sport seriously. Athletics keep us active and create wellness both mentally and physically.

At Agile Physical Therapy, we take your sport seriously. Our Sports Medicine program is meant to keep you participating in your sport of choice and help you obtain your specific fitness goals. You are only as strong as your team, at Agile, 68% of our physical therapists are board-certified compared to the 12% national average, which results in highly qualified therapists helping you achieve your goals.

No human is the same and therefore no injury should be treated the same.  Taking a proactive approach to an injury often decreases your recovery time and gets you back to your sport sooner. Physical therapists are your musculoskeletal experts that can help evaluate your injury and tailor your program to your specific phase of recovery and your unique needs.

Here are some specialized services we offer:

  • Pre and Post-Surgical Rehabilitation
  • Running Analysis
  • Injury Screenings and Prevention
  • Bike Fit Assessments

  • Vestibular Therapy (for post-concussive patients)
  • Kinesio Taping
  • Myofascial Decompression (cupping)

According to Johns Hopkins University, there are more than 3.5 million sports injuries per year, the most common are:

  • Ankle Sprain
  • Hamstring Strain
  • Groin (Adductor) pull
  • Knee Pain (Patellofemoral syndrome)
  • Knee Ligament Strain (ACL is most common)
  • Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis)
  • Shin Splints (Tibial Stress Syndrome)

When you have specialized individualized care, you are not only back on your feet faster but have the potential to be greater than you were prior by preventing future injury. At Agile we don’t look at you as your injury, we see you for how your injury has affected your life and how we can help you to feel like yourself before you know it.
