Meet Matthew
Dr. Matthew D’Elena discovered his passion for physical therapy during his undergraduate studies at California State University Chico, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at University of the Pacific. Being a competitive basketball and soccer player for most of his life, he has always had a special interest in sports related injuries and published research on the effects of ankle braces on athletic performance. Dr. D’Elena believes in a functional rehabilitation approach and strives to ensure his patients reach all of their movement and athletic goals. Outside of clinical practice he is involved in academia, serving as a practical examiner for physical therapy students. Additionally, in his free time, he enjoys basketball, hiking, reading, and traveling.
