Laurel Stephens

Laurel, born and raised in San Francisco, earned her Bachelors in Kinesiology from San Francisco State University, then received her Doctorate from UCSF/SFSU. She has completed her fellowship-based residency program for orthopedic manual therapy to receive her COMPT through Manual Therapy Institute.

As a physical therapist, Laurel enjoys working with patient to help get them to whatever goal they have in mind, from athletics to participating in a patient’s hobbies. With her training in manual therapy, she also find pride in using her hands-on skills to guide a patient’s healing process. Her belief is improving how you move allows you to live how you want.

Her athletic background include circus arts, rowing at the high school and DI collegiate level, and recently has entered into the world of cycling. In June, 2025, she will be completing her THIRD (!) AIDS/Lifecycle ride from SF to LA. When not at work, she can be found rowing in the early morning at Lake Merced, cycling around the Bay Area, attending live music, out hiking with her dogs, Cookie and Chip or cuddling with her cat Parsnip.
