Heather Barnes
Meet Heather
Heather earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences in 2012. Prior to that she had earned her B.S. in Clinical Exercise Science from Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2017 she became a certified yoga instructor (RYT-200) and in 2022, she became a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist. She has also received training in PreNatal/Postpartum Rehabilitation, Pelvic Floor Evaluation and Treatment including treatment of urinary incontinence, pelvic pain and bowel concerns just to name a few conditions.
Heather began her career in the Washington D.C. area, working at large, fast paced and busy orthopedic practices. Her experience is primarily in orthopedics where she has worked with a large variety of patients from high school athletes to those undergoing joint replacement surgeries. She has also worked in post-acute and skilled nursing rehabilitation centers. Recently her experiences include virtual/hybrid care, pelvic floor care especially in prenatal and postpartum patients.
As an East coast transplant, she has really enjoyed exploring all of the outdoor opportunities California has to offer. She enjoys yoga, hiking and traveling the world with her husband Doug and their dog Jack.
