Sophia Yu
Meet Sophia
Sophia graduated with her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA. While in school, she had the opportunity to work with various certified hand therapists and completed her level I and level II fieldwork in hand therapy at Massachusetts General Hospital. Since moving back to the Bay Area, she has worked in private practice and completed her Hand Therapy Fellowship at Stanford Health Care. Sophia had the opportunity to present her posters at the annual Massachusetts Association of Occupational Therapy in 2020 and Hand Therapy Association of California in 2023. Additionally, she has guest lectured and assisted with orthotics labs in undergraduate and occupational therapy
programs.
Sophia collaborates with her patients to create individualized treatment programs suited for their needs. She believes education is an important aspect of the recovery process so patientsunderstand how their body is healing and why their home program is crucial to achieve their goals.
Outside of work, Sophia enjoys spending time with her family and friends, discovering new restaurants, and traveling.
