Tyler is originally a native of Washington DC, but calls California home. She has a bachelor of Occupational Therapy from Colorado State University and has taken a number of graduate courses in cognitive sciences. Tyler has been a Certified Hand Therapist since 1999 and had her own Hand Therapy practice in Palo Alto for 14 years.
Prior to the focus on hand therapy, she has also worked in acute care at John’s Hopkins hospital, outpatient rehabilitation, and had been a long standing member of the medical staff at wellness program for people with MS founded by an Olympic skier Jimmie Heuga. Her professional interests include pediatrics, ergonomics, and splinting.
Her skills include custom splint fabrication (whether from a traditional pattern or uniquely invented), hand writing remediation, ergonomics, and silver ring splint fitting.
Tyler spends her free time with her husband and their teenage son taking local hikes and traveling. She is also involved with volunteering at Menlo Atherton High School and a local boy scout troop 222.
